China, the crisis and the numbers

"Chinese" numbers that hardly require explanation. Numbers from a country with young capitalism, still able to direct capital and consequently its social effects. But also in difficulty in the face of an indomitable proletarian class that did not stop striking one day in the industrial districts. In the first six months of 2021, China achieved the following results:

Year-on-year growth in foreign trade = + 27.1%

Import = + 25.9%

Export = + 28.1%

Trade with South East Asia + 27.8%

Trade with North America + 34.6% (in the face of duties)

Trade between Chinese private companies + 35.1% (47.8% of total trade)

Internal exchange in China between foreign companies + 19%.

These are significant numbers: no country in the world has had double-digit net growth rates for many years. No country in the world can, however, avoid comparing these figures with those, disastrous, of countries with mature capitalism. Who can absorb Beijing's exuberance?

Work on the various branches of the Silk Road is nearing early completion, meaning that the increase in trade to Eurasia and Europe has begun earlier than expected. This could not avoid producing struggles for claims of economic content and this is normal. In Guangdong, among the claims of this type, however, there was a request with a naively political flavor, namely that of "respect". It does not mean anything tangible, but it has taken root symbolically as if to reiterate that the working class is not a class of slaves who passively accept the highest rate of exploitation in the world.
